I remember Mr. Watson living in the Boxing Club premises; he was a chimney sweep, a humorous man who was English by birth. He had a son Tommy and a daughter who married a soldier from Athlone. Sadly, as far as I can remember, she lost her life at a level crossing in Athlone. I think her married name may have been Samuels. The Watsons were a nice, decent family and Mr. Watson was a popular figure in Castlebar over 50 years ago.
