I often wondered about the "Three Pillars" which were located at the end of the boreen close to the St. Gerald's College boundary wall.It would appear that the Pillars were the supports for a proposed bridge that was never built. Does anybody know why such a bridge might have been required at that location and why the project was abandoned? Maybe the other wooden bridge a couple of hundred metres downstream was built as an alternative.
