The official opening of the swimming pool at St. Bridget's Crescent, known as the Gussie Wynne pool, was performed by Ronnie Delany, winner of the 1500 metres Olympics gold medal in Melbourne in 1956. Photos were taken on the day and some of them may be knocking about. I was at the official opening and I think a number of councillors were also present, including the late Willie Cresham.
