I cannot remember any removal of remains to the old cemetary. It would be interesting to know what happened to the old graves. You could try James Cahill, local solicitor, whose family home borders the site.
I know that in London, on the discovery of mass graves from the plague period, all human remains have to be placed in coffins and reinterred before bulding can proceed.
