The present Sacred Heart Home Hospital was built on the site of the Old County Home by Mc Cormack Contractors in the mid sixties. They surley should know.Im told that at that time there was a lot of discussion in the local Connaught Telegraph about this issue, and others. This information should be available in the County Libary. The present complex was officialy opened on the 30/10/1973,by Brendan Corrish TD.There seems to be no offical record in the Town Council Offices, or any headstone in the old graveyard.Surley the Health Board at that time under Mayo Co. Co.must have some records.
