Just saw the posting about the Wren Boys and old traditions and I was delighted that on my road that we had the plaesure of the wren boys tradition and it was nice to see the tradition maintained this year. Two young boys with the accordian and wren bush played the christmas carol jingle bells for my family and we all enjoyed the honour of the wren boys. They did not seek to go out in beg but gave pleasure to families they played to. Only a week later at work I found out it was the grand children of an old town family whom had lived in spencer street the Kings and I was delighted that they maintain the tradition not for the bobs but for tradition. So well done to the boys family for allowing us in turlough road to enjoy sweet melodies on st stephens day.
