The Lawn and The bacon factory was our disney World.I remember firing the lids into the air,trying to see who could throw them the furthest ,how about getting lumps of canfer, putting pieces in a tin can,making a fuse,lighting it and boommmmmmmmm.There always seemed to be cork available for the home fire,o that lovely smell of tar burning,i can nearly get it still.The full barrels of white worms wooh.How about all the times we filled our tummies with black currants from Dankys ,this time of the year. All the hours we spent making and firing stones with our personalised made Catter pults,and our pockets full of stones heading back to school at dinner time,the poor birds ,please forgive us,we were young and foolish.
