a cara....i had not covered the businesses on the cinema sise of the street.....i remember fitzgeralds chemist shop quite well.......and jim.. yank ..kellys pub....which was owned by butty ketterick.....in my day....it changed hands in the late '40s early fifties....and was bought by paddy o donnell.....whose brother incidentally owned a vegetable store at the back of langans.....i shot the shit many times with ....jim kelly ....who hailed from aughadrina....jim was a great character ....and one of his originals was this "trick " glass he had....when he had a drink with ya...i told him once that this glass only held a mouthful...so he poured the contents into a regular glass and i was blown away to see how much his glass held....his favourite expressionwas ....if he didn't like somebody was....he' as tight as a bulls ass going up a hill.....jim and had many a drink together in sloyans......and his wife.....?reilly from glenisland.....
