The Old Gaol was built in 1835 on the site presently occupied by Mayo General Hospital
(opposite T.F. Royal Hotel & Theatre.)

It was knocked down in 1934 to make way for the building of the County Hospital.Muirsin Durkin has a photo on the link below.
