Im not fully sure what point you are making,good fellow?.Is it that the local business community have disowned the festival?or that the festival has run its course.I agree that the business community have disowned the festival and indeed there has been no bunting or flags on the main street for years and see what the main street is like now.I also recall a certain hotel in our town which was operating the dual standard drink pricing system one for locals and one for the foreigner who they thought would pay ,hadnt seen that since the occasion at the castle.Any way I was delighted that they eventually saw they saw the errors of their ways.With regard to the festival running its course?.No,the numbers were up this year and walking is becoming more popular and the few changes the committee have made seem to be working.To the businesses around town who have made the effort of welcoming the walkers ,you are reaping the benefits, because lets face the walker does not forget.
