a cara.....my memories of the pavillion go back to the sunday afternoon hops in the early '50s.....enid elliot...was the matron at large.....and maestro red johnny bourke of baile na gcloc was the headliner......johnny on his button key would have us dancing up a storm ....with such favourites ....as...i'm walking behind you....she wore red feathers ....little things mean alot....to a series of old time waltzes.....and irish jigs and reels.....
all the gang would be there.....mary jo moylette her sister dolores....nodie swift...teasie jordan...breege mccarthy....maureen gilmartin.....brendan sammon ..paddy byrne.....tom kelly...etc ...etc...
those indeed were the days....
the pound road has many a tale to tell...
