Thanks as always for your contribution Oliver. I'd say that there are not many Castlebar people, who don't have fond memories of the Pavilion. In recent times I have broached this subject with quite a number of people and the replies have been terrifc. One chap told me that on a day when he was playing tennis,it started to rain heavily (nothing seems to change) so he and the gang sheltered in the Pavilion. While he as engaged in an "amorous" conversation (his words not mine!), in walks a well known padre, who marced him home to meet his mother. From that day forth, he said that he always loved women and disliked the clergy! Another friend told me that it was in the Pavilion where he had his first kiss, but he wouldn't tell me who the lucky girl was!
If those walss could only speak....
