a cara......christh hobans was indeed a high class grocer and provisioner......martin quinn served as his main man until he too opened up his own store in castle lane.....but christy was not shy in putting scraps in the pound of rashers.....byrnnes on main street had a horse drawn cart where they collected eggs.....val donegan was not the first vegetable store .....henry odonnell had a vegetable shop at the back of langans...his brother paddy bought butty kettericks pub on spencer street ...this was later acquired by jim "yank" kelly...whose class phrase was....he's as tight as bulls ass going up a hill.....jim was a class act.....and i supped many a guinness with him....later we did the crawl down town .....to sloyans....
back to shops condons had a veg shop on the bridge......
