That's interesting, JDP. In the early '60's the debris of what might once have been a small house or cottage could be seen on the left side of Pavilion road - just up from the Green Bay café, and opposite the grounds of the Church of Ireland N.S.
I wonder was there once a gate lodge on that spot, and could it have been the Dwyer house you referred to?
In my time, that road was much narrower than it is now: with a line of bushes along it on the left; and on the right the drystone wall of the school grounds. The road ended a short distance beyond the tennis pavilion, up a slight rise, at a small house - Flannellys? Or, was this once Dwyers?
When the road was eventually extended to Station road, and the area opened up for development, I think the first house was built by the O'Neill family?
Was this road originally a back entrance to Spencer Park?
