Clann na talmhan had very strong roots in the west of Ireland. It's founder Michael Donnellan was father of the great John & Pat Donnellan of the Galway '60's team, he was succeeded by a man from Belcarra called Joe Blowick who held the ministry for lands portfolio in the interparty government of the late '40's. Many of the supporters of Joe Blowick would have followed on by supporting the late Henry Kenny after the party's demise. I wonder what those people would make of todays circus.
