a cara.......butch.....you and i must be of the same ilk.....i too as a youngster growing up ....believed and in fact was told ...our national flag ....was green ...white ....and gold....in fact in 1953 when the irish festival....an tostal was launched....evry was asking for green...white and gold material.....for those that dont know anything about ....an tostal....this festival was a celebration of ....irish culture.....there was great excitement and hoopla......perhaps in another posting ....i will share the ....nostalgc moments of ....an tostal....and accepted that as infallible until i first went to london......i was in the garryowen.....a well known irish dance hall at brook green hammersmith.....as you entered the hall there was a picture of michael collins and the tricolour.....it was there that i was told the tricolor was green ...white ...and orange......of course...as i became more color aware ....i realized the tricolor was ...green ....white....and orange.....
....i never did ride a mule from ballyvary.....but memory of the ballyvarry train bridge is etched forever.....and drank many a pint in donnelys......in fact one night years ago....i was in the irish centre ....in buffalo new york....one of the donnely brothers met me and told me he knew me from castlebar.....he invited me and my entourage.....back to his house....where we stayed for a great week.....wonderful hospitality....and great stories.....
a little off the post track ....but its orange ...butch......
