Indeed Mr. Halligan, an amazing coincidence, and I might add a most propitious occurence,as you have brought attention to an illusion that certainly existed in your mind, allowing us by your confession to correct the matter once and for all times. How many other Leprechauns like ourselves, from the shores of Tripoli to the Cobh of Cork followed the ever retreating rainbow for that mythical pot of gold. for what we believed to be, we saw. However for many years(1848)the tricolour did not live up to it's message. like a man inside the Church of God, does not become any holier merely because he is inside. It remained simply a cloth of colours till "The Good Friday Peace Accords" when the warring parties laid their tomahawkes on the ground. So mercifully, and gratefully, the message that our flag speaks now, holds true, and please God will remain true for all time. As the White band between the two colours Green(Catholics) and Orange (Protestants), proclaims the peacefull cohabitation that now exists, and continues to grow to exist in a working harmony. Yes, the flag, flew on a pole, for many years before 'Good Friday', but it did'nt make it any holier!.The point belabored granted ,but per Mr. Halligans request, the matter has been put to bed.So let there be a Hooley in Halligan's house to-night ceoil agus damsha, for "Peace remained on the land and the Lion lay with the lamb". Sinn Sinn, Slain Libh a Cairde agus go Beanacht De Oirimbh go Leir, is Mise Me fein, Seamas O Dea
