The Comber family on Poorhouse Hill included James jnr. (b.1883) who was still a baker in Castlebar in 1943.

James jnr.'s brother Michael Joe (b.1888) was elected a Fianna Fáil member of Castlebar Urban Council in 1934. There was also an Annie Mary (Anne) and a Walter in the family. Bridget Durcan, sister in law to James snr. was in the house on Census night in 1911.

That's not that long ago. Perhaps there is someone out there who knows of this family. Does Johnny Mee frequent these pages?
