Well said there Brian.

Really like the sound of this hope the idea will catch on.

Proper signage, on-site historical information and preservation of the historical town should be a mandatory requirement for any County town or prospective urbanity in Ireland.

Castlebar has a vast well of history in its built heritage which could be brilliantly utilised.
There are too many sites and buildings without proper recognition or information.

One such building that comes to mind is the Birthplace of Ernie O'Malley on Ellison street correct me if Im wrong but is there no plaque on the building to indicate this?

I am aware of the Manannan Mac Lir sculpture in the Mall.
