There is still a few very old buildings left around Castlebar. There was one at the back of King's/Moran's Pub in Spencer Street which I think is still there. This is a three story building which also backs onto the Lawn and was used as a slaughter house in the 1960s'/'70's by the late Tom Keenan, husband of Maisie. It had two trap doors and was/is a fine stone building.
