Tributes continue to be paid to astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man on the Moon, who died on Saturday at the age of 82. Hundreds of millions watched Armstrong land on the Moon on 20 July 1969 and describe it as: "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." His two colleagues aboard the Apolla II were Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin and Michael Collins.
Collins is married to Patricia Finnegan, whose late father came from Lissaniska, Bekan, Co. Mayo. The couple paid a visit to Mayo in September 1982 and called on a number of her relatives.
