Hi Lisa, I'm glad there are still plenty of family members out there. ‘Twiggs’ is a very old Castlebar surname, going back to at least 1848 when it was spelt ‘Twigg’ without the letter s.
The building, where Tom Twiggs operated a sweet shop at the corner of Chapel Street and Tucker Street and known to generations of Castlebar locals as ‘Tom Twiggs’ Corner’ was demolished in October 1993.
There still plenty of your relations living in and around the town.
