Brendan Quinn.

During last week the death took place of the historian Brendan Quinn, son of the late Castlebar journalist and historian J F Quinn. Brendan had returned to Ireland some years ago after an extended period in the U.S.

On his return home he took on the task of editing and revising some of his father's historical articles, taken from the Western People, and published them in a series of books under the title A History of Mayo. Brendan, passed away in Enniscrone last week and was laid to rest in the family grave in the Old Cemetery, Castlebar, May he rest in peace.
