The Bingham family resided in the Lawn House, or some version of it, from 1584. The title Earl of Lucan was created in 1776.

Christ Church was built in 1739.

John Wesley laid the foundation for the Methodist Church in 1785.

Daly’s Hotel (the Imperial) was established in 1785 as a mail coach inn on the Ballinasloe to Westport route. Across the road from it stood the hanging tree where Fr. Conroy was hanged in 1798.

I am wondering if the stone steps up to the Mall at Rock Square might be in contention for the oldest remnant ? I am sure the Binghams did not scarper across rough terrain to attend Christ Church in 1739.
