Greetings Auld Stock.
Congrats to all on organising, once again, the Bonamh Market revival, especially for those who think nowadays that everything is only real if it is on their Smartphone.
Where have you been Oliver ? we missed your canny, accurate musings. You have a gift for remembering the names of these characters and what they did.Keep them coming. And for that we thank you.
In the mid 1970s the Bonamh Market sales were in decline and the Calf Market was the remaining feature. There was a larger than life, truly genuine character, named Gerry ....... who worked in a business in Thomas Street from Mon- Fri. On Saturdays he transformed into a calf dealer popping out to sell or buy calves in-between attending to customers.Hilarious to watch. He is no longer with us, RIP Gerry B.hope you are still attending some calf market in the sky.
Different times indeed.
Hoping the event is once again a great success.
