I think it's unfair to blame the Councillors for what happened to the convent.If you look back at the newspapers at that time,you will see that the developers sneaked onto the site at the crack of dawn and demolished virtually everything before most of the Town got out of their beds.The record will also show that ALL Councillors condemned equally what happened so please do not attempt to rewrite history or put a revisionist slant - at least give it a few years before you do so.
