Taht lack of class distinction seems to still exists, there is a great sense of pride and comradery amongst those who worked in the Factory when it was in full swing.
I think there was a time when almost every family in the town had a connection of some sort with it.
That wonderful feeling of 'old' Castlebar is sadly lacking for my generation, we hear the stories, see some opf the pictures in the Parish magazine each Christmas and wish we were back there in what seemed like happier times.

When I was growing up my father was a milkman doinmg door to door deliveries around the town so I got to meet a lot of the 'aul stock', sadly many of them are gone but what saddens me the most is that the sense of the times from whence they came is going too.

Castlebar is changing and moving on to definitely bigger things, but as for better things? I don't know, if we let the glorious closeness of the town die then we are doing a dis-service to the memories of the true 'aul stock' and the GREAT town this has been to grow up in.
(God that sounds like a rant, buts it's not meant to, I just love the memories I have of a childhood that I know the current teanage generation simply don't have)
