Thanks UTP. I remember every spring we bought boxes of the 'little yellow chicks' from the bacon factory. They came in flat cardboard boxes and were carried on the bicycle carrier seat chirping all the way. The were then placed beside the fire for warmth. At feeding time newspaper was laid down and the little chicks were fed in front of the fire. An infrared lamp was also hung over them in a big box to keep them warm until they were ready to be put outside.
