Murrisk, I can't help you with the memories there auld stock, I was too young for that kind of carry on you know! But I remember Mick Delahunty and the Melody Aces etc. playing in a big marquee opposite the tennis pavilon years ago, before Telecom Eireann built their automatic telephone exchange there and before Mrs Symes built her house after she moved out of Spencer Park house.
John Williams used to oversee the building for her and we enjoyed ourselves as we played on the scaffolding with some of the more agile of the group from the Spencer street area, able to put the circus performers to shame with their gymnastic endeavours. Good clean fun and nobody got hurt!
