Whilst looking back at old newspapers,I came across an article from the Mayo News from February 1952.In Castlebar Criminal Court, there were no crinimal cases listed so an ancient ritual took place.A pair of white gloves were formally presented to the presiding Judge M.Connolly.He accepted the gloves as symbolic of the crimeless state of the county.
Different times although a month later,a murder trial took place in the county.
