Sir Anthony Bevir, KCVO, CBE, retired permanent secretary to Prime Ministers of England from 1947 to 1956 and private sec to Winston Chuchill and is buried in the Protestant cemetary(Posted by UTP)
Sir Anthony Bevir was married to Noel Sidney Browne b 23.12.1899 of Breaghwy House, she was the daughter of Domnick Sidney Browne, who d 1927.
After Sir Anthony retired they lived for a number of years at Melcomb House in Newport, and latterly in Achill, where he died. Some years later Noel Bevir went to live in Australia with an adopted son, where she died(Posted by PBRB)
