Hi folks....I have Mayo roots through my g-grandparents. The name is Halligan. It's cool to know that my grandfather Frank (Francis)had two interesting brothers: Father Halligan was the chaplain of the lost batallion of WWI and Hugh Halligan became the deputy commissioner of the New York City Fire Dept in the 40's and the inventor of the Halligan Hook, now used all over the world as a tool to break into the windows of burning houses. My own grandfater, Frank, died at the age of 33 and I know absolutely nothing of the others or of the deeper Mayo past. Does anyone have any info for me? It would be nice to close the circle of history here. Regards,Maryann
