I am delighted to hear this research is happening. When I lived in Oz, James Mee and myself did some casual investigating about this. I remember James spent a lot of time in the main library in Sydney looking for info. I had a very enjoyable on air chat with a historian on radio about the possibility of the Man being from Castlebar. I'll be following this thread with great inerest.
