On Sunday 14th
April, 2002 after a moving ceremony in St. Patrick's Chapel,
Lahardane for the repose of the souls who lost their lives
in the Titanic Disaster a marble plaque was unveiled. The
plaque is on the church wall near to where the baptismal
fount stood, it gives the townlands, names and dates of
birth for each Addergoole victim.
A more extensive
memorial to the 11 Addergoole men and women who perished
in this disaster, and also the three women who survived,
shall will be erected in the church grounds in the coming
year. It is also hoped that a center shall be built in the
village by the year 2012 for the centenary.
