John Bourke, 42, 23rd May 1869, Carrowskeheen, parents William Bourke and Mary O'Boyle, age on 1901 census 30years.

John's wife Mrs. Catherine McHugh Bourke, age 32, 28th October, 1879, Tawnagh, Co. Mayo.

John's sister Mary Bourke, 40yrs, 11-6-1871, Carrowskeheen.

Mr. John bourke was a farmer, he married Catherine McHugh of Tawnagh, Co. Mayo on the 17th of January, 1911. John his wife and sister Mary were going to Chicago, they were among a party of 14 from Addergoole parish who were on the titanic, of which 3 were saved. This party boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as third class passengers. He purchased their tickets from Mr. Thomas Durcan of Castlebar. The night the titanic sank, John and Patrick Canavan helped women and children to escape to a higher deck. Catherine and Mary refused to remain in their lifeboat, (no. 16) when they realised John would be left behind. All three drowned.

James Flynn

James Flynn age 28, of Cuilkillew, son of James Flynn and Ann Canavan; baptised 13-9-1883; related to the Kelly's and the Canavan's; age on 1901 Census, 18 years.

James boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger. He was bound for New York where his brother Anthony lived. James drowned, his body if recovered was never identified.

Pat Canavan

Pat Canavan age 21, of Knockmaria, Co. Mayo; son of Anthony Canavan and Bridget Kelly; baptised on the 14-9-1890; related to Kelly's and Canavan's; age on 1901 Census, 9 years, lost. Patrick was related to Annie Kate Kelly and was a first cousin of Mary Canavan. Patrick was on his way to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a third class passenger on the Titanic, his body if recovered was never identified.

Mary Mangan

Mary Mangan age 32 of Carrowskehine, daughter of John Mangan and Bridget Bourke; baptised 7-9-1879; Mary lived with her sister Ellen in Chicago for some years and had returned home to visit relatives. She was engaged to be married to Pat Walsh of Tubrid on her return to Chicago. Her gold watch, taken from the body, engraved with her name, is presently in the possession of Mr. Anthony Mangan of Carrowskehine. She boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger.

Mary Canavan

Mary Canavan, age 21, 18-6-1889, Tonacrick; daughter of James Flynn and Ann Canavan; age on 1901 Census, 11 years; first cousin of Patrick Canavan, boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger. Mary drowned, and her body if recovered was never identified.

 

Honor / Nora Fleming

Honor/Nora Fleming of Carrowskeheen; daughter of Thomas Fleming and Mary Callaghan; age 24,
14-4-1888; age on 1901 Census, 12 years. Nora boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger and drowned on the sinking of the Titanic. It is believed her sister Catherine who had immigrated to the US in 1906 (according to the 1920 US Census) had sent money home in 1911 for Nora to immigrate. It is said by some of the survivors that Nora sang hymns to the end.

Bridget Donohoe

Bridget Donohoe of Cum; daughter of David Donohoe and Catherine Moyles; age 21, 14-1-1891; age on 1901 Census, 11 years; lost. Bridget boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger, it is believed she was on her way to Chicago Illinois. Bridget drowned, her body if found was never identified.

 

Katherine McGowan

Katherine McGowan age 42, of Terryduff, Massbrook; baptised on the 30-9-1869; daughter of Anthony McGowan and Bridget Mayock; returned citizen of the US; lost. Katherine had lived in Cleveland, Ohio and had moved to Chicago Illinois where her sister Mrs. Thomas McDermott lived. She had another sister Mrs. Margaret McCarthy who lived in Cleveland. She boarded the titanic at Queenstown, and was travelling with her niece Ann McGowan back to the United States.

Miss Delia Mahon

Miss Delia Mahon, 20 years, 6-3-1892, Derrymartin; daughter of Michael Mahon and Ann Cawley; age on the 1901 Census, 9 years. Delia drowned on the sinking of the titanic.
