Annie was born 15 May 1872 0r 73. John was born June 1874. Kathleen was born Sept. 1881. James was born 1838 and Rose Hannah July 1838. They are listed on the passenger list for New York in 1888. James Frederick Brown was born December 18, 1868 or 69 in Charlotte, South Carolina.

Details: I'm looking for information or descendants of John Nolan and Mary Grady circa 1840 from Kilmeena. Their daughter Anna married Thomas Hoban from Cohra on April 11, 1889 and she emigrated to Chicago in 1890. She had a sister Mary Nolan Lavelle and a brother Michael who also went to Chicago. I'm looking for at least four other brothers. I am also looking for descendants of Patrick Cannon from Cohra born circa 1800 and his wife Mary Madden. We already know the warm and wonderful cousins Nora Hoban Lyons from Spencer Street and her sisters Kay, Sarah, Sisters Margaret and Paul, the late John of Cohra etc. Thanks.

Details: Mary McKenzie was born about 1806 in Westport, Co. Mayo. She married first Michael/Patrick Sheridan and had three known children in Ireland, Margaret b. abt 1829, Ann b. abt 1830 and Hannah abt 1836. She then married Geo Lindsay about 1839 and had two more children in Ireland. Geo and Mary Lindsay came to the US around 1846/7 and settled first in Remsen NY and then moved to Mitchell in Wisconsin. She had three more children, Sarah, George and John. She died in Mitchell Wisconsin October 18, 1889.

Details: I am looking for info on the Conlon's. Ellen Conlon was born Jan.22, 1895 in Castlebar, I believe. Her Birth Certificate says her father's name was James, her mother Ellen Cooney. She was baptised Jan 26, 1895 at Parish of Aglish Archdiocese of Tuam, Co. Mayo Castlebar. The two witnesses were a James Michael Conlon & Elizabeth Conlon. What relation to her I don't know. Ellen was never married and lived in Ohio around Cincinnati most of her life. She left Ireland at around age 16 and never returned. She was a dear friend to me and my family. She is long gone now but her name is carried on by my daughter. I would like to find anything I can out about her and her family. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Details: An Anne Virga posted a search in October 1998 for information of mcmyler relatives. Her email address quoted is no longer valid, thus I suspect that she may have married. The settled in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had a daughter Anna Mae Callaghan. Domnick was a laborer at the Atlantic Refinery in Philadelphia. Domnick had at least one brother, Patrick who owned land in Castlebar/Brefi. Domnick had at least one niece, Mary, "Maimie" Callaghan, my godmother.I never met Domnick or Mary. Mary died in 1929. Details: On a recent trip to the town of Balla in County Mayo (17 Dec 1997), my cousin and I found a grave stone that I would like to find out more about. It was located in a cemetary outside of town past the School on the main road. The inscription reads: "IHS, Patrick Flannagan, DEC 1851 59 yrs, Wife Mary 1848, RIP 50 yrs". I inquire because there were flowers at the grave site then and I was hoping that someone might know something of these folks.

Her oldest daughter was a nun in the Sisters of Vincentia. She was a housekeeper in Dublin after (maybe before, too?) Robert's death in 1901. She is buried in the Bronx. Details: My great grandfather, John Byrne was born in the Castlebar area around 1835, but emigrated to Chester UK about 1858. His father was Thomas Byrne (dead by 1861) and his mother was Julia. He had two brothers, Patrick (born circa 1838) and Thomas c. 1845) and possibly a couple of sisters still alive in 1861.
Both John and his wife, Catherine Duffy give their birthplace as Castlebar in the British census returns but we haven't traced any record of his birth. (Unsurprising given the lack of parish records around this time).
If anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

Married Elizabeth Gallagher, from Leitrim,Ireland.But met here in the state. James die in 1936. His other brother Domonic stayed in Castlebar, or Mayo somewhere. And he had two sisters Sara and Maragret,they didn't come to the states. But I don't know if they left, or stayed. There was another McMyler family in Commauns (Martin, Jack, Joseph, Michael, William, Kate, Ann, Mary and Teresa). I am unsure as to how we are related.
My mum Ellen was born in Burren in 1929. Her siblings were Andrew, Martin, Michael, Patrick, Tom, Rose, margaret, Bridie, Mary and Catherine. Tom is still in Castlebar; the last we heard of Rose, she was in London; and Bridie is in Sacramento, USA.
Any help would be appreciated.

Details: I am looking for information regarding Richard Kelly of Spencer Street, Castlebar. (Possible brother ?twin? named John)(Story also goes that John is the patriarch of the Grace Kelly line----I don't know if that is true). Richard married Mary McKean.
They had a daughter, Mary, born about 1871. She taught at the Convent of Our Lady of Mercy, Saint Angela's, Castlebar until about 1888. Mary emigrated to Canada sometime between 1888 and 6-1891(I believe). In 6-1891 Mary married Owen McDonough of Cty. Fermanagh in Windsor, Ontario. After 1897, the family moved to Detroit, Michigan. Mary had at least two sisters, Bridget and Kate who also came over to Canada possibly at the same time. Mary was my great-grandmother.
I have no information on the McKean family other than her name from Mary's death certificate. Any information about the Kelly or McKean families would be appreciated.

Details: William left County Mayo about 1846. His father was Thomas Murray a mnister of the Church of England (Church of Ireland?) William was the only one to leave. His mother and several siblings died as a result of disease contracted during the famine. I am looking any information about Thomas or any of the family that stayed in Castlebar.

Details: Want to say hi, plus would like some information on the William Monaghan on the list/ scrolled down the roster and could not find any information pertaining to him. would like to know if there is a connection to the Monaghans (Moneghans) in Ohio. All that I know is my great great grandfather was born in Ireland in 1815. Came to America and married in 1839. Probably came with his family. Can not find what port or when he or they left Ireland. Tracing family roots and got no further than Terrence Manahan (American spelling when he entered) Changed to Moneghan few years later. Cecil Day Lewis, the former Poet Laurate and father of Daniel Day Lewis is listed in many bit biographies as having being born in Ballintubber House, Co Mayo. Is this the large house surrounded by trees on the right hand side of the road as one is travelling between Ballintubber and Partry or is it merely a mistake which should read Ballintubber, Co Roscommon?

He reared a large family but we know of only his youngest son my grandfather Dennis (Dionyssius Hoban)and a Daughter Mary who married a Patrick Jordan and lived in Fall River Massachusetts.John's son Dennis was born in Castlebar in 1844 and eventually settled in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania.
