Calling all cyclists, walkers, runners and golfers to support Mayo Pink Ribbon this May Bank Holiday Weekend. With not one but three fundraising events to chose from there is something for everyone.

Despite an extremely busy schedule, Enda Kenny will once again lead cyclists in the Mayo Pink Ribbon 100km Cycle which will take place this year on Saturday April 30th. Last year Enda donned the pink ribbon and joined with men and women of all ages in a fundraising event which raised over €60,000 for breast cancer research. As a result, Mayo Pink Ribbon is paying for two post doctoral research scientists for one year. This is a real and tangible way to fight breast cancer and it is something that can be continued with your help.

The 100km cycle is a leisure event, not a race, so it should appeal to those who are interested in getting fit as well as the more seasoned cyclists among us. Preparation for the cycle involves lots of fresh air and beautiful scenery and the end result is a strong fit body and toned legs. How could that not appeal!

For those who prefer the delights of the golf course the Mayo Pink Ribbon Golf Classic will take place in Ballina Golf Club also on Saturday, April 30th. Entry for teams of four is €200. For details please contact Paul Cawley (086 8053755) or email paul@theoptimumgroup.

If neither of these activities is for you, the Western People West of Ireland Women's Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday May 1st. All women interested in walking or running for Mayo Pink Ribbon are invited to contact us for information and sponsorship cards.

If you are not of an energetic nature don't panic! There will be plenty of opportunity to sponsor and support someone else. The important thing is to THINK PINK and help in the fight against breast cancer.
