Friday 13th May 2005 - some photos from the night of Midsummer Madness
On the 15th July 2004 Castlebar Rotary supported Michael Clancy's tractor drive from Birmingham to Mayo in support of Mayo Roscommon Hospice and the National Association of Children's Hospices. The Rotary Club teams up with the Cardiology Dept of Mayo General Hospital in Dunnes Stores Car Park. Free blood pressure tests and information about the dangers of strokes and how to avoid them. Our Christmas Toy Appeal provides toys for children who are not as lucky as most. Always a highly successful event in association with the Castlebar St. Vincent De Paul Society.

Fr Pat Farragher of the Family Centre was our speaker in Dec 2003. The women's refuge has received support from Castlebar Rotary Club On 23rd May 2003 Castlebar Rotary Club celebrated its 25th year in Castlebar. A number of the original founder members John Kilkelly, Seamas Moneley (RIP_, John McHugh, Seamus Cashin, Jim Finan received special 25 year service awards on the night. John Kilkelly addressed the large crowd assembled at Breaffy House Hotel to celebrate the occasion. President Thomas Collins outlined just some of the club's undertakings over the past 25 years. Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised for local and international charities over the years. Even more important he said was the time, effort and energy put in by the members in support of a wide range of projects. On a night of celebration a substantial sum was raised for some special Castlebar Rotary projects. A minute's silence was observed in memory of deceased members including the late Gerry Beirne Die Another Day was the 2002 Castlebar Rotary Rotary Film Premiere. The event raised a substantial sum of money for a range of local charities. On 26th January 2001 the Rotary Club of Castlebar hosted the Irish premiere of the then new Mel Gibson's film in aid of Elderly Mayo Emigrants and local charities.
