Well while the weekend ahead may be dominated on the sporting front by the impending Connacht Football Semi-Final clash between Mayo and Roscommon and Westport United's All-Ireland Final clash with Waterford there's another event taking place (on an ever so slightly smaller scale) in Claremorris to help with fundraising for the Mayo Cancer Support Association.

The event is the DeCare Road Race and Walk 2005 and funds raised from this year's outing will go towards the Mayo Cancer Support Association who benefitted from a previous run held by DeCare, from which funds went into their Rock Rose House project (a drop-in, support and information centre for people with / or affected by cancer).

The run will incorporate the 2nd leg of the Mayo A.C. Summer Road Race League but many of us will be happy enough to just walk the route, so stick on a pair of comfortable walking shoes or runners and join us.

If you'd like to participate, the event will take place in Claremorris on Saturday, 18th June 2005, at 6:00pm.
(Registration begins at 4.00pm in Claremorris Town Hall)

The entry fee is EUR10 all of which goes directly to the charity fund and in return you'll receive a race t-shirt and race number plus a goodie bag at the end.

Even if you don't take part in the Road Race/Walk, you may like to contribute to the fundraising effort and any contributions can be mailed to Vivienne Fallon at the contact details listed below.

Tel : 094 9377250
Email : vfallon@decare.com
Postal : DeCare Int., IDA Business Park, Claremorris, Co.Mayo
