Founded in Castlebar - 9th September 1999

AIMS:
1. The general aims of the Committee will be:-

(A) To give recognition to the past contribution of all Irish emigrants to their homeland.
(B) To raise awareness of their needs.
(C) To target same as effectively as possible.

2. The Committee will establish links with all agencies which have an interest in assisting Irish emigrants.

3. The Committee will seek to focus particular attention on elderly Irish
emigrants because of their acute health, housing and social needs.

4. The Committee will endeavour to seek resources from all agencies -
including the government- to support their work.

5. The Committee shall seek to promote its aims and aspirations through
the dissemination of all relevant information to all interested groups both
at home and abroad.

6. The Committee will produce guidelines on the availability of all services
relevant to the needs of returning emigrants.

7. The Committee will endeavour to support families in tracing family members and relatives.

8. The Committee will organise the preparation of written information relevant to the needs of Irish emigrants
