You are spot on with your recollection of the weigh scale details Hogie. Other families on that side of Market Sq were Twiggs, Cunningham, Egan, Shaughnessy ( Leo the only resident remaining), Birdy Flynn ( Labour Exchange ). John Tarpey was a WW1 vet living there in the 60s. John was missing some fingers and smoked a pipe with a half lid. He had the ground floor of his house covered in dried caked mud which he considered a good form of insulation - an idea the poor man had from his time living in underground bunkers during the great war.
