So sad to hear of the passing yesterday evening of the one and only Pat Jordan, may his gentle soul rest in peace. Everybody from Castlebar will have their own fond memories of "Father Pat", who was church sacristan for over 50 years.There was a time when almost everyone's lives were touched by Pat, when you'd meet him at mass, rosary & benediction,altar serving, choir, weddings, funerals, baptisms, confessions...all the many church gatherings. He was always there, always in good humour and looked after the church as nobody else could and he always had a word for everybody. The end of an era for Castlebar people everywhere.
