It was great to see the bells ringing in the new year,good old Gussie Bartley and some of his neighbors had the bells out and music playing long may it last as it seems all the old traditions are dying out,bit like the wren boys I did not see one call to my door pity as it was a great way to make a few bob when I was young you would look forward to st Steven's day, out you would go with your tin can,and if you were able to catch the little wren bird you were sure to fill your can.But even the little wren bird is a very hard bird to see now.
