Langston's Hill certainly brings back memories. I remember walking along the railway line to get there. We thought it was a great place to view the world. Saleen was really a lake and the woods were full of hazel nuts. It was especially exciting to be on Langston's when the Westport train passed by. Looking at the Kerry rain these past few weeks makes me realise that we had it good. So many afternoons spent just sitting there, watching the world, teling stories, even drinking water from streams. The Lawn did dominate that side of town. A well known Road man told me lately that when a family member died overseas, they requested that a handful of their ashes be thrown over the wall. I'm not sure how legal that is in our hygiene regulations so I shall not mention names!
