a cara.......one only must think of what happened the statue of saddam hussein......it is an horrific ignominy that a statue be erected to honour those barbaric men posing as christian and god fearing......for those of us that suffered such brutality it is an insult.....i dreaded each day i went to school knowing the harrowing experiences i would have to endure.....peter tyrell wrote in 1959.....the child that beaten by someone bigger and stronger than himself will very often grow up bitter and full of hatred of society......he will want to get his own back......he may one day hit back.....i warn society against the the child who has been hurt.....everytime a victim of violence makes contact with their horrific past ...the horror is reopened.....peter tyrell burned himself to death in hamstead heath in 1968....his attempts to have the horrors of irish schools investigated was deep sixed until his charred remains were found in hamstead common.....a few years ago i had the priveledge of meeting and lunching with caroline hunt and bernadette fahy in london .....we talked of their experiences in goldenbridge and they listened to my experiences in the de la salle schools in castlebar.....
i only hope more survivors of the horrors of st patricks...and st. geralds....vent their buried pain.....
