Yes, I agree Castlebar has changed over the years, but that is progress. I can remember days when you could walk down Main Street, or any street for that matter, and you would meet so many people, possibly knowing everyone of them and having a chat. Now when I return to my home town after being away for 32 years, I can walk around the town and never meet anyone that I know or even recognize. The population has grown, there are so many things to do, the only things we had were the pictures and dances. One would not go into a bar for a social evening, it would not be considered proper. How things have changed and for the better I hope.
