Weren't the carnivals just super. Do you remember the magnificent Sunday nights, one was farmers night when the big prize was a bull, and the other Sunday night has a car as first prize. I think that Angela Colgan won a yellow ford Anglia there if I am not mistaken.
Do you remember when Paddy Mellett took the Council to court over them giving permission to Perk's to have the carnival on the Mall? They were then restricted on the amount of machinery they could bring onto the green.
The Military Barracks ones were the best though. What a wheel of fortune! Did you ever see so much delph? Do you remember the Noah's Ark? That will always be my favourite. Great times had by all.
