Well Murrisk, many a tinker(as we called travellers in those days) came to our door begging for tea and sugar and many a one my mother helped out.She even read letters for them.No secret language there.I took care of a few badly burned tinkers in Dr Steevens Hospital in the 60's.(Tents went on fire)I had no problem understanding a young 14 year old begging me to help her in her pain.So what does it all mean.Is there a secret language or not. What do other NBer's think? Incidently the now Curradrish Rd which connects the old Turlough Rd to Pontoon Rd was known as Tinkers Bohereen when I lived in Castlebar.
