Congratulation to the Tidy Towns Committee on a very successful Awards Ceremony held on Friday night 29th September.

Our Annual Conference "Making your website work for you" is on Wednesday 15th November. This conference will examine the issues that businesses need to address in order to develop an effective online presence.

Tickets are now available for this year’s Annual Dinner on Saturday 11th November in Breaffy House Hotel.

Our collectors for this year’s Christmas Lights will be going out shortly. Again we are holding a confined draw and we appeal to you to support this initiative and help to make Castlebar a Christmas shopping experience to remember.

Remember we are still looking for our 30ft Christmas tree so we would appreciate your help.

Fire safety is simply good business practise and the National Safety Council is running Fire Safety Week 2000 from 9th – 15th October. European Fire Safety Day is Friday 13th October and all businesses are encouraged to carry out an evacuation drill during that working day. For advice and information contact the National Safety Council on LoCall 1890 200844.

An Enterprise & Employment Exhibition will be held in the Balla Resource Centre on Thursday 26th October from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. This will provide an opportunity for the public to understand the services provided by organisations in the area and will be of particular interest to small business operators.

"B2G – Doing Business with Government in a Networked Economy". This conference is being held by CCI on Tuesday 24th October in the Burlington Hotel.

We will soon be launching a webshop under the auspices of the Castlebar Server Project which will market and sell products for Mayo businesses. This will allow businesses to trade online at a fraction of the normal costs. Look out for further details.
