It’s Official! Ford Cork Week 2002
13th – 19th July 2002
The Royal Cork Yacht Club are delighted to announce the dates for Ford Cork Week 2002 . At a recent meeting the ever-resilient members resoundingly voted to go it again and run what is the undisputed best fun Regatta in the World. The secret of the Event’s success lies firmly in the voluntary ethos – living proof of the Event Slogan “The Best Fun Regatta in the World - Run by sailors for Sailors”
The 2002 Event is once again generously supported by our main sponsor Henry Ford & Son Limited. This year’s team is headed by Chairman, past Commodore Jim Lyons. Jim headed up the Shoreside team in ’98 and will bring his own stamp to the event. Ever conscious of ringing the changes and improving the Event , the team have taken on board the suggestions and recommendations from the competitors, volunteers and members and intend to focus on 500 boats for the 2002 Regatta.
The Royal Cork Yacht Club and the hard working members are eager to ensure that Fork Cork Week remains Irelands’ leading Sports Tourism Event.
